LOWVILLE, NY. Locally-made medium (mild) cheddar. Great flavor without the tangy bite of older, sharp cheddars.
Cheddar cheese is a relatively hard, sometimes sharp-tasting, natural cheese. Originating in the English village of Cheddar in Somerset, cheeses of this style are produced beyond the region and in several countries around the world.
Lowville Producers Dairy is owned by 165 Dairy Families in Upstate New York between the foothills of the Adirondack Mountains and the Tug Hill Plateau. The cooperative has been in business since 1936. Its dairy farms produce over 310 million gallons of Grade A milk each year.
Please note: each brick of cheese produced by the Lowville Producers Dairy Co-op is approximately 10 ounces, but they are cut at a random weight, so some cheeses may weigh a little more or a little less than this average. By purchasing, you agree that you are paying for a random weight portion of cheese at a flat unit price.
