LOWVILLE, N.Y. Creamy, smooth, fresh farmer cheese with carrots, onions, tomatoes, and celery mixed in.
Farmers cheese (or farmer cheese) is made from pressed cottage cheese and is unripened, giving it a very fresh, mild taste.
Lowville Producers Dairy is owned by 165 Dairy Families in Upstate New York between the foothills of the Adirondack Mountains and the Tug Hill Plateau. The cooperative has been in business since 1936. Its dairy farms produce over 310 million gallons of Grade A milk each year.
Please note: each portion of Veggie Farmers Cheese produced by the Lowville Producers Dairy Co-op is approximately 10 ounces, but they are cut at a random weight, so some cheeses may weigh a little more or a little less than this average.
